Snow

We finally have a little snow to play in. It only lasts a few days before it melts but at least we can make use of our snow clothes and get some fresh air! :)

Who else gets the giggles watching their little kidos try to walk in big puffy snow clothes?:)

Christmas in the Country

We spent the weekend before Christmas with my family and we had a BLAST!!! We had planned it all out and made all the assignments on Thanksgiving so we'd have plenty to do.

We played basketball on the new hoop the guys installed on Thanksgiving weekend. We went on rides up in the mountains on the new quad Grandpa purchased. Tiff had Bingo all ready for the kids with super fun prizes. The adults played White Elephant and played minute-to-win-it games one night and I admit that I did pee my pants a little laughing so hard. We went skeet shoot-n' on the back hill (imagine me saying that in my best cowgirl twang). We cut out and ironed paper snowflakes and hung them all over my mom's windows (if there was a national competition on cutting paper snowflakes... I'm sure my brother Dave would win it!) The kids rode their scooters and plasma cars down the super long driveway.

I'm so sad that I didn't take any pictures. (Tiff & Ellie - send your pics my way ;))

My family is amazing and we love each of them so much! I can't forget to mention my mom's FABULOUS cooking.... YUMMY! :) It was good times and we are so very blessed to have our family close!

Loving Fall

This is my absolute favorite time of year! I get so high on the smell of leaves and carved pumpkins. YUM. I love to lay beneath the trees and look through the bright yellow and orange leaves contrasted against the beautiful clear blue sky. These pictures I store in my mind to bring out in several months when there's no color left. I honestly can't get enough of it.

We went to the Pumpkin Walk this past weekend as we do annually. The kids love seeing all the different scenes. Brynnlie's preschool put together a scene so Brynn was really excited to show us the pumpkin she decorated. Matt took us to our favorite Mexican restaurant afterward and we ate delicious chips & salsa, mango & passion fruit lemonade, and yummy burritos (my fave is the shrimp enchiladas ;)). We came home and Matt and I talked about how grateful we are for our little family. We have so much fun together!

There was an awesome pumpkin scene about Adoption so we had to take a picture. :)

We carved our pumpkins for FHE this week and roasted the pumpkin seeds for our treat. Brynn and I carved one pumpkin. She designed it on a piece of paper and I carved it. She named it Furcatsy and Matt named his Jack (so original honey).

We have a small road by our house that is perfect for crunching through the leaves. We go out daily to run up and down it a few times and get our autumn leaves fix (I'm addicted to the smell).

I accidentally recorded this video sideways. I apologize now for the crook you are going to get in your neck watching it ;).

We hope you are enjoying all the fun that comes with this season!

Recent Crafties

This week I finished my Christmas Cards for our "neighbor/friend gifts". I haven't decided what I'm going to put with them yet (trying to decide between 2 things). I love getting hand-made-cards and it was a lot of fun making them. I made each one different so that it would be more fun to create.

My sweet sis-in-law Caitlin came over also and we made some wreaths. She made a Halloween one and I wish I would have taken a picture. It turned out so cute! I ended up making one for Brynn's door to her room. She loves it! She's so fun to make things for... so appreciative and kind :).

I'm working on some other projects right now but they're surprises! Maybe I'll share after Christmas. ;0)

Girl's Night

Brynn went to sleep yesterday at 2:30 in the afternoon and woke up at 7:30 (bed time). I asked her if she was feeling ok and she said she was feeling "GREAT!". I told her that Gavin had just gone to bed and asked her if she was tired. "NO WAY Mommy!" hahaha. Matt was feeling sick and was upstairs laying down. I got excited and told her that it sounds like we get to stay up late together and have a GIRLS NIGHT!

We took a shower and blow dried our hair for church. We put on our jammies and jumped in the car and went to the 8:50 showing of Rio. We got popcorn and shared a Laughy Taffy. We put on our awesome 3D glasses and giggled and snuggled through the whole movie. After it was over we ran through the parking lot to our car and pretended that we could fly. :)

We came home and there was a crazy wind storm outside that was rattling the windows and the fence. The sky was clear so we threw all of the blankets we could find out on the tramp and brought our pillows. We snuggled under the warm blankets and watched the sky and listened to the wind whirl around us. We talked and told funny stories. I told her the special story of how she came in to our family and how our Heavenly Father answered all of our prayers. I told her how much I love being her mommy. She hugged me and told me I was the best mommy in the whole world. We laid there quietly and looked at the stars and the moon. Then the fence made a loud cracking sound and we both made a break for it and ran into the house to go to bed.

It was so much fun sharing a night with just the two of us. We need to do that more often!

1st BIRTHDAY!

Gavin turned 1~!! Can you believe it? I still can't. We had lots of festivities to celebrate and I'm so grateful to our family who comes to share these happy times with us.

Gavin, we LOVE you! Our son has a very SPECIAL sweetness about him that melts his mommy & daddy's heart. His eyes SPARKLE. He is patient and has been an EASY baby. He has a TENDER heart and gets his feelings hurt easily. He is SMART and loves to use his hands to figure things out. He is a GREAT sleeper. He gives the BEST kisses! He has an addictive SMILE. He LOVES his mommy & daddy and likes to be held. He loves his big sister and watches her very closely & LAUGHS every time she laughs. He makes our family feel COMPLETE. And he is really HANDSOME too if I say so myself. :)

This past year with our little man has been really special. We've loved EVERY SINGLE SECOND with him and can't wait for bajillions more. ;)

The Happy Holidays of 2010

We sure had fun this Holiday season and it's only because we are UnBelievably BLESSED in the family department! We spent Christmas with my family in Moroni and then went to a cabin in Bear Lake with Matt's family for our New Year's celebrations. In my opinion the best form of blogging is to have TONS of pictures so brace yourself and here we go!

Grandma & Grandpa Miller came over before Christmas bearing gifts and we let the kids unwrap them right away so that they could enjoy it with us. Brynn loves her doll house and so do we because she stays in her bedroom until at least 7 every morning playing with it ;). We didn't think Gavin would be able to figure out his car center thing-a-ma-bob but he pushed the buttons and happily chewed on the cars for 2 hours the next morning while I packed everything to get ready to go.

We really enjoyed ourselves at my parent's house this year. My dad just finished "The Loft" above the barn which has a couple of bedrooms, a kitchen & bathroom, and a great room with a nice warm fire. Grammy moved in after Thanksgiving and has made it all nice and comfy. We got to sleep out there with her this year and thoroughly enjoyed her company.

This is what I absolutely LOVE about going to my parent's house... I feel like I can breathe deeper surrounded by this...

We fit all of our favorite things in as we decorated cookies for Santa, went sledding on the back hill, played TONS of board games, ate clam chowder by candle-light on Christmas Eve, opened up our Christmas jammies and snuggled up and read the story of Christ's birth. We woke up early to open presents together around the tree, and then of course ate my mom's infamous warm Danish Pastries and scrambled eggs. Brynn told us on the way home that she LOVES her uncles and aunts and has FUN playing with her cousins. We couldn't agree more :).

Hey Brynners, do you want a little cookie to go with those sprinkles?

Christmas Morning!

Gavin at home after Christmas with his new stash. He LOVES this stuff!

We were too busy having fun to get many pictures of our time in Bear Lake. Our cabin had 7 bedrooms so it fit us all perfectly and we had an absolute blast! Grandpa rented a couple of snowmobiles for two days and the kids did a LOT of sledding. We stayed up until all hours of the morning playing "Reverse Charades" and it was HILARIOUS to say the least (OH I WISH I had video!!! I could use it as blackmail to get my brother-in-laws to do anything I wanted! muah ha ha). Our awesome Sariah cut and/or highlighted all of our hair one of the days and I love my new-do. It was altogether very enjoyable and relaxing and we love our family more than ever!

Salt Lake & Snow Man's Wife

Last week Matt came home and told us that he had a room for us at the Downtown Marriott in Salt Lake for Friday night. We looked forward to it all week and it ended up being a blast! We all decided that this has to be a new tradition we carry on every year.

Matt came home early on Friday so that we could get down there in plenty of time to get some good swimming in. We parked under the hotel and hauled ALL of our bags and food up to the lobby and the staff couldn't find us in the computer. They figured that we were probably at the other Marriott. We didn't know there were 2 full-service Marriotts within a couple blocks of each other (it was a rookie's mistake ;)). We found the downtown Marriott on our GPS and got all checked in just in the nick of time (Brynn was informing everyone that she would just have to pee her pants if we didn't hurry). Our room was on the 14th floor and the outside wall was a gigantic window. We had an amazing view of the temple and Brynnlie spent lots of time looking at all the cars and lights and people down below.

Brynnlie & Daddy really enjoyed themselves in the pool (Brynn liked the hot tub the very best but her daddy wouldn't let her stay in it for more than a couple of minutes in fear that it would cook her insides. ;)) They swam for a couple hours on Friday and then Brynn woke up at the crack of dawn Saturday and pulled her daddy out of bed for another 3 hour swim :).

After swimming on Friday night, we got ourselves all bundled up and walked around temple square. It was absolutely beautiful and it really put us in the Christmas spirit seeing all of the sacred scenes and hearing the stories of Christ's birth. Brynnlie's favorite part was seeing baby Jesus and she kept asking, "is this real or pretend?"

We ended the night with all of us in our pajamas snuggling on the king bed watching Despicable Me (fun movie!). I am so grateful for these moments we share as a family! I love my handsome and incredibly amazing man and our two beautiful children more than anything in this whole world. They are so fun to hang out with.

We hope you all enjoyed the holidays as much as we have! Happy New Year!!! :)

p.s. Here's a pic of Frosty's wife, "Frigid". :) Brynn & I had to get the snow wet in the ditch just to get it to pack before we started to roll it but we sure had fun!

Gaver's Sealing

We had the opportunity to have Gavin sealed into our eternal family the weekend before Thanksgiving. It ended up being the first snow storm of the year and we are so grateful that our entire family trekked into Logan to share this AMAZING experience with us regardless. It was an emotional weekend and I'm so grateful to be a part of this gospel and to have our children sealed to us forever.

Brynnlie sings "I Love to See the Temple" quite a bit and she was excited to go into the temple with her brother. Both Grandmas helped get the kids dressed in the nursery and played with them as they waited. Brynn and Gavin were amazing during the sealing (the chandelier gets em every time). Afterward, when our family & friends came to give us a hug, Brynn REALLY hammed it up and was making us all laugh.

Some of our family left to get ready for the dinner but here is a pic of the rest of us.

We are so glad that Gavin's birthmom and her family could also share this special time with us. They have been incredibly gracious and kind through the entire adoption experience and we are eternally grateful for each of them. Rachael has a strength and courage about her that we look up to. It was fun having her & her oldest brother spend the night with us so that they could attend Gavin's blessing the next day.

The snow was coming down pretty hard but it was the perfect time of night to take pictures and we got some good ones! (a couple of the temple workers told us that we probably shouldn't take our kids out in the cold but we figured the adoption was final so we can freeze them all we want now. ;) hahaha)

It was such a magical evening & we will never forget it. We are so incredibly blessed!
